DI Henry Crabbe finds himself in charge of a new team - the Public Duties Squad - the latest brainchild of his boss ACC Freddy Fisher. He's joined by two other talented PCs, Jane Morton and Ed Guthrie, both in the PDS because of their scandalous pasts. Crabbe and his trusty assistants take on a number of cases including video-pirating, marshalling squabbling jurors considering their verdict and guarding a sausage factory.
