Innovative and lyrical, Last Days is award-winning director Gus Van Sant's (Elephant, My Own Private Idaho, Good Will Hunting) fictional meditation on the inner turmoil that engulfs a brilliant, but troubled musician in the final hours of his life. Starring Michael Pitt (The Dreamers, Bully) Lucas Haas (Witness, Brick) and Asia Argento (xXx, The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things) the film, though fictional, is inspired by the last days of Kurt Cobain.

The film follows Blake, an introspective musician whose success has left him in a lonely place, through a handful of hours he spends in and near his wooded home, a fugitive from his own life and an assortment of friends, management and hangers-on; two of whom are played by Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore from Nirvana contemporaries, Sonic Youth.

Expanding on the elliptical style forged in his previous two films, Gerry and the Palme d'Or-winning Elephant, Van Sant takes a much-reported event and renders it in a uniquely insightful and powerfully affecting style.
