The Ugly Truth

Abby Richter (Katherine Heigl - Knocked Up) is the producer for a morning show that is rapidly failing and is soon to be shut down. To help boost the ratings her boss hires Mike Chadway (Gerard Butler - 300), the host to a show called The Ugly Truth, where he expresses what he believes makes a relationship work and what men and women want out of a relationship. Abby doesn’t like Mike’s style and thinks he is chauvinistic and refuses to work with him. But when Mike finds out that Abby is trying to charm her next door neighbour Colin, he offers a helping hand to reel him in, as long as Abby agrees to work with him on the show.

Paul (Hugh Grant) and Meryl Morgan (Sarah Jessica Parker) are a recently separated couple and are about to file for a divorce. But when they both witness a murder they are put into the Witness Protection Programme, given new identities and are forced to relocate until the killer has been put behind bars. Now the two must spend every minute of every day together whilst adjusting to life in a new town. Can they rekindle their relationship or will this just make matters much worse?

It's Complicated

Jane (Meryl Streep) has been divorced for a while, her ex-husband cheated on her with a ‘younger model’. She is the mother of three adult children and owns a successful bakery. Although her divorce was not on the greatest terms, she still remains on good terms with her ex; Jake (Alec Baldwin) and at their son’s graduation they decide to go for a meal together.

It does not take long before a few drinks turn into more and the two surprisingly have an amazing time together which turns into a full-blown affair. Jane is now ‘the other woman’ and is proud of it. All is going well up until Adam (Steve Martin) falls in love with Jane and soon realises he’s entered into an unusual love-triangle.

‘It’s Complicated’ is a hilarious look at marriage, divorce and everything in between. It was nominated for 3 golden Globes, and winner of two awards including Best Actress (Meryl Streep).
