Gumdrop, a beautiful blue Austin Clifton, has a busy life and finally ends up in a scrapyard. There he is found by Mr Oldcastle, who takes him home and lovingly restores him.

As a boy, Mr Oldcastle had seen this wonderful car and promised himself that one day he would own it. Finally, his dreams have come true. He has Gumdrop - and together they begin a series of wonderful adventures.
