Huckleberry Finn, bored with the 'civilised' life reluctantly joins Tom Sawyer's pirate gang whose adventures he learns from experience, are far from challenging and exciting. Frustrated by their games, Huck wanders the town and learns of the return of his father who kidnaps him and holds him captive in a deserted forest shanty.
Desperation and fear force Huck to escape and feign his own brutal murder, all of which is too obvious for St Petersberg's Sheriff Kelly. Jackson Island becomes Huck's new home. His refuge, however, is threatened when he discovers the presence of another. To his relief it is his old friend Jim who also fled the widow Douglas after Huck's untimely 'death'...together they decide their destination shall be Ohio.
The discovery of an abandoned raft and the repleneshing of supplies, at a house destroyed by a flash flood, sees Huck and Jim on their way.... The journey to Ohio brings more adventures for our terrible twosome.
