Swiftnick: The evil Sir John Glutton, aided by his steward Captain Nathan Spiker, tries to evict Mrs Smith and her son Nicholas from their inn, The Black Swan. Desperate they turn to Dick Turpin for help. Turpin has an old score to settle with Sir John.
The Capture: Dick Turpin decides that Swiftnick is not ready for life as a highwayman and sets about getting him a respectable job. Sir John Glutton and Spiker plot to capture Turpin using the Bogue Lady Kinnerton as a decoy.
The Champion: Turpin enlists the help of a famous prize fighter Tom Bracewell 'The Bristol Butcher', when he discovers that the village at Mudbury is being terrorised by the fanatical Nightingale and his bully Hogg.
The Poacher: Turpin and Swiftnick discover a poacher in their 'manor'. They suspect Vizard is the culprit but Sir John Gluton's nephew Willoughby Cressett provides the answer.
The Pursuit: Turpin and Swiftnick are robbed by a mysterious highwayman: a chase leads them to the Bedingfield household where they meet Mrs Bedingfield and her beautiful daughters Belinda and Abigail. They are invited to stay the night.
The Blacksmith: Turpin's friend Sam Morgan the blacksmith, is thrown into jail by Spiker. Turpin and Swiftnick capture Sir John Glutton and offer to exchange him for Morgan. Spiker agrees but sets a trap.
Disc 2
The Imposter: Sir John, worried about Turpin's increasing popularity in the neighbourhood at Rookham, decides to employ an imposter to pose as Turpin. His first victim is to be Amos Varley, Swiftnick's uncle.
The Upright Man: Dick Turpin's friend Ben Hawk is ambushed by the militia and hung. Turpin sets out to help his widow Sal but discovers that she has been thrown out of her pub and accused of betraying her husband.
The Whipping Boy: The Duke of Hertford, furious at being robbed by Turpin and Swiftnick, sends for the most notorious thief-taker in England, Colonel Tobias Moat, to hunt them down.
The Hero: The Turncoat: Jail-Birds: The Hostages.
