Finn Earl (Anton Yelchin) is about to have the best summer of his life, visiting his father on an anthropological study of a tribe known as the Fierce People. That is until he gets arrested for drug possession and his mother (Diane Lane) packs up their things and moves them in with a friend of hers. The thing is, he just happens to be the seventh richest man in America (Donald Sutherland).
